ZAGREB, July 17 (Hina) - An association of employers in oil and oil products trade on Monday morning blocked eight locations of Croatia's oil company INA in the wake of a recent decision by INA's management to abolish rebate in the
sale of motor petrol and diesel fuels to private wholesale dealers and petrol station owners. The protest's crisis centre this morning abandoned the idea of an announced blockade of the Rijeka-based refinery given the current intensity of tourist business. Despite the other blockades, which are to last 24 hours, sources at INA say supply with oil products is regular. ZAGREB, July 17 (Hina) - An association of employers in oil and oil
products trade on Monday morning blocked eight locations of
Croatia's oil company INA in the wake of a recent decision by INA's
management to abolish rebate in the sale of motor petrol and diesel
fuels to private wholesale dealers and petrol station owners.
The protest's crisis centre this morning abandoned the idea of an
announced blockade of the Rijeka-based refinery given the current
intensity of tourist business.
Despite the other blockades, which are to last 24 hours, sources at
INA say supply with oil products is regular. Mijo Ivurek, director
at INA's promotional activities sector, told Hina the supply was
not in question for the time being, but that difficulties could
arise if the protests lasted, affecting the tourist season.
Ivurek is hopeful an adequate solution to discontinue the blockades
will be found in talks with the economy minister. He reminded of the
difficulties the oil company was in, saying that in the present
conditions, INA was not in the position to reintroduce rebate for
private wholesale dealers and petrol station owners.
