ZAGREB, July 11 (Hina) - Dun&Bradstreet, one of the leading
international agencies for business information and credit rating
has given Croatia a DB5 investment risk mark for July.
The mark remains unchanged in relation to May this year, when
Croatia received an improved risk assessment for the first time in
19 months.
According to the D&B report for July, Croatia is ninth on a list of
24 central and east European countries.
Recently published information for the first four months of this
year shows some positive changes in Croatia's foreign sector -
exports have increased by 2.4 percent while imports have decreased
by 3.5 percent (on the annual level).
The agency forecasts an increase in the import of capital goods for
the current programme of restructuring and in mass consumption
imports. According to D&B, this increase in imports will be
alleviated by increased exports enabled by the process of Croatia's
drawing closer to international trade associations.
Croatia's current investment risk mark - DB5a - is the best possible
rating in DB5 category, which indicates a high risk area.
However, representatives of Bonline company, D&B's representative
for Croatia, said this assessment was actually a position from
which Croatia could soon, probably at the end of this tourist
season, climb to DB4 category of moderate investment risk.
