BRUSSELS, July 10 (Hina) - A discussion on the situation in the countries in the western Balkans reflects the significance of the stake and the breadth of the engagement of the European Union in that region, French Foreign Minister
Hubert Vedrine told a news conference on Monday. Commenting on proposals that the EU-western Balkans summit, which is likely to take place in Croatia in November, be extended with more countries-participants (such as those that are applying to for the entrance into the EU) the French minister replied that his country was more in favour of the initial list of the participants in this summit. According to Vedrine, that list includes only countries established in the area of the former Yugoslavia (SFRY). The purpose of such a meeting is to forward a political message about benefits and advantages of democracy in those countries in comparison to the situation in
