ZADAR, June 13 (Hina) - Displaced persons accommodated in the hotel complex 'Pinija' in Petrcani near Zadar deblocked the entrance to the complex on Tuesday, after they were promised regular meals as well as water and power supply.
The displaced blocked the entrance to the complex on Tuesday, June 6, protesting the decision of the hotel management to stop providing them with meals and refusing to allow reconstruction works on the hotel to continue. The hotel 'Pinija', which hosts 270 displaced persons, was bought several months ago by businessman Ante Kovacevic, who wanted to reconstruct the hotel ahead of the tourist season. The owner claimed he had been told when buying the hotel that the displaced would move out soon, and decided to stop preparing them meals because the state failed to cover accommodation and food costs.(hina) rml.
