ZAGREB, June 8 (Hina) - The Article 11 Commission on Thursday expressed support to the Croatian Government, local and regional officials in Posavina and locals in the intensifying of a dialogue and cooperation in finding solutions for
problems they were facing and the maintaining of the achieved progress. "In order to start talking about obstacles and maintain the progress, we encourage the Government, local and regional officials as well as locals, to intensify the dialogue and cooperation, aiming at finding and implementing solutions for difficult problems", read a statement issued by the Article 11 Commission. expressed support to the Croatian Government, local and regional
officials in Posavina and locals in the intensifying of a dialogue
and cooperation in finding solutions for problems they were facing
and the maintaining of the achieved progress.

After a visit to the Okucani region, about 60 kilometres east of
Zagreb and a meeting between a delegation of the Croatian
Government and local authorities, the Article 11 Commission
expressed satisfaction with the degree of cooperation and openness
between local official, representatives of the Croatian Government
and members of the international community.
The visit of the members of the Commission and the Croatian
Government delegation aimed at informing members of the commission
with the progress in the return of refugees, the reconstruction of
houses, the establishment of trust and economic development of the
Okucani region. The visit also aimed at talks with local officials
on overcoming obstacles and chances for the future.
The Commission expressed satisfaction with the talks conducted
with local officials in Okucani, the prefect and the mayor as well
as with the Head Committee in Okucani.
The commission also visited the village of Covac to see
international projects in the reconstruction of houses an
infrastructure, and providing returnees and wider community with
economic and legal assistance. Representatives of the Commission
also met with locals and families of Serb returnees.
The Article 11 Commission stressed that its members supported a
great number of projects and understood the importance of the
economic recovery as a part of the overall return process and the
establishment of trust.
The Article 11 Commission is composed of international ambassadors
who follow the
implementation of an agreement on the peaceful reintegration of
Croatia's Danube River Region.
