SPLIT, May 18 (Hina) - Editor-in-chief of the Slobodna Dalmacija daily, Josip Jovic, on Thursday afternoon offered his mandate to the paper's management. Jovic decided to do so after Thursday's results of a secret vote in which most
employed reporters and photographers expressed a vote of no confidence. Jovic told Hina he had not tendered his resignation to his post, but had merely offered his mandate, and the management, present or future, would decide on it. He would respect any decision they make, he said. Jovic reiterated Slobodna Dalmacija had in the past several months increased its circulation, and its reputation was better than ever in the past ten years. He claims the entire affair surrounding his ousting had been initiated outside of the paper, and was being carried out "via inside players".(hina) lml mm
