ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of
Representatives on Thursday morning continued its fourth session
by a discussion on a final bill on amendments to the law on interior
affairs.
The amendments, proposed by the Committee for Interior Affairs and
National Security, establish conditions, measures, and ways of
tapping, said president of the Committee Djurdja Aldesic of the
Croatian Social-Liberal Party (HSLS).
The Committee motioned the amendments after Article 18 of the law on
interior affairs was abolished two months ago, and in line with
which the interior minister had the right to decide who was to be
tapped. The Committee proposed that the House of Representatives
appoints a commission of three members, and whom the interior
minister should inform of tapping measures that had been taken. The
commission would include non-party persons and at least one
investigation judge.
Adlesic said that the proposed solution would be applied for only
about a month, when an integral law is expected to be passed.
She expressed hope that in the future human rights would not be
violated and measures of tapping would not be applied on
journalists, politicians and other public figures.
