ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - Representatives of South Korea's Han Jung concern on Monday visited the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), where they were briefed on possibilities of investment and business cooperation with Croatian
companies, especially in the metal-working industry. According to Ljerka Stranic, assistant director at HGK's sector for international affairs, US$3.6 billion had been invested in Croatia by the end of 1999, mostly from the United States, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Stranic announced Croatia would soon adopt legislative measures aimed at stimulating foreign investment via tariff concessions. She also outlined the benefits of investing in Croatia, in free trade for example. Last year's trade between Croatia and South Korea totalled US$80.15 million, in which Croatia's export accounted for US$936,000 and import for US$79.2 million.(hina) ha mm
