During the festival, musicians, artists, performers and culinary experts from Israel will promote their country on that northern Dalmatian island.
This is not a political message, but a message of entertainment. We would like to show colours, flavours and scents of Israel in Croatia, Israeli Ambassador Yosef Amrani said at today's presentation in Zagreb.
He believes that the festival should reaffirm excellent relations between Croatia and Israel. Given that Croatia is a tourist country, the choice of Novalja as the venue for this event has been logical, the diplomat said.
Last year, 32,000 Israelis visited Croatia, with Amrani assessing the this number was higher in light of the fact that some Israelis holding dual citizenship carried passports of their other country when travelling to Croatia.
Novalja Mayor Ivan Dabo called on young Israelis to visit this town and the famus Zrce beach.
