Archbishop Josip Bozanic, who told the faithful Easter was the day
of hope, the day when all human suffering, disappointment,
injuries, crosses, disheartenment, coercion, humiliated human
dignity, lack of respect for human life, and every cry of human
injury gathered and united around the Resurrected One.

The Archbishop wished the Croatian people peace - peace as the fruit
of basic work, as an expression of respect for the right to life,
truth, freedom, the right to love for every man.
Emphasising the importance of peace, Archbishop Bozanic wished for
"peace and reconciliation in the Croatian society, in private and
public life; peace, mutual respect, peace which brings trust, and
that no man looks at the other man as if he were his enemy, as someone
undesirable because he does not belong to his own group or camp;
peace, which enables man to accept also those who think
differently; peace, which enables man for dialogue, discussion,
for a joint search for solutions; peace, in which man accepts
Christ, who before 2000 years was born into the world."
"In my thoughts I am with those who do not have what is necessary for
living," the Archbishop said.
Offering his best wishes for Easter, Bozanic wished that no one ever
loses hope in the victory of good in the year of the Great Jubilee
2000.
Participating in the mass were also Cardinal Franjo Kuharic, papal
nuncio Giulio Einaudi and Zagreb auxiliary bishops Josip Mrzljak
and Vlado Kosic.
