VOTERS IN BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA DISSATISFIED WITH HDZ IN AUTHORITY

MOSTAR, April 20 (Hina) - Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) secretary-general Marko Tokic on Thursday commented on a recent decision by the party's Presidency about the dissolution of three canton and several municipal HDZ committees. Tokic said the party leadership had come to the decision to make such radical party changes because a large majority of the Bosnian Croat voters had not voted in the recent municipal elections in the country. According to Tokic, the voters thus warned that they were not satisfied with the HDZ's authority. He said in Siroki Brijeg more than 6,000, and in Mostar 8,000 Croats, who voted for the HDZ of Bosnia-Herzegovina at previous local elections three years ago, now did not vote. Should this be repeated at general elections this autumn, it could be detrimental to both the HDZ and the Croat people in Bosnia- Herzegovina, Tokic said. "We must be relieved of some people who misused their position," he stressed. Asked why the party Presidency had dismissed only party officials at lower levels, Tokic said many officials from the HDZ BiH presidency and central bodies would be dismissed. (hina) lml mm
