ZAGREB, April 20 (Hina) - Croatia's National Sabor President Zlatko Tomcic on Thursday received the Czech parliament's Senate delegation, led by Senate President Libusha Beneshova. During the talks they pointed to the importance of
inter-parliamentary cooperation between these two European countries. They also considered the political situation in the Czech Republic and Croatia and courses of constitutional changes that are taking place in both countries. Asked by Tomcic about the Senate's role in the Czech parliament, Beneshova said this state body had a useful controlling role. In case of the fall of the Government, the Senate assumes its role, she explained. In this context Tomcic added that it was useful for young democracies to have a bicameral parliament and expressed his stand that the bicameral system should be retained in Croatia with certain Constitutional changes.(hina) ms
