ZAGREB, April 19 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic and Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) president Drazen Budisa on Wednesday held their first official meeting since late January's presidential elections, in which they had
been the chief candidates. The press was briefed on the meeting by Djurdja Adlesic, the president of the HSLS parliamentary bench, who also attended. The two-hour working lunch, initiated by President Mesic, tackled the current situation in the country, especially the state of affairs in the intelligence community, Adlesic said. She added the manager of the Office for National Security, Tomislav Karamarko, was also present at the meeting. Adlesic, who also chairs parliament's Committee on Internal Affairs and National Security, said they agreed changes in the intelligence community were imperative. The press was briefed on the meeting by Djurdja Adlesic, the
president of the HSLS parliamentary bench, who also attended.

Asked if today's meeting had also discussed the controversial sale
of Croatia's largest circulation daily, "Vecernji List", Adlesic
said the issue was just mentioned.
She told reporters the participants in today's meeting had
harmonised views on other political issues as well, and agreed
President Mesic should hold a meeting with representatives of the
ruling six-party coalition and some non-parliamentary parties.
