ZAGREB, April 10 (Hina) - The International League of Humanists, established in the Croatian coastal town of Dubrovnik in 1974, declared Jelena Brajsa, the head of the relief agency 'Caritas' within Zagreb Archdiocese, as a humanist
of the world. The League will conferred a golden charter of peace and humanism on Brajsa on Tuesday. According to the League, Brajsa deserved this award for her dedicated humanitarian work for over 35 years. The work of the International League, established at an initiative of a famous scientist, Croatian academician Ivan Supek, is based on a Dubrovnik Statement accepted by the organisation at its congress in Philadelphia in 1976. Main principles are the protection and respect of man and his freedom, said a founder of the League, Zdravko Surlan, at a news conference on Monday.
