ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - More than thirty Croatian artists will take part at an international creativity biennale for young artists called "Big Torino 2000". More than 500 artists from 75 countries will participate at the
manifestation taking part in Torino from April 7 until May 5. Croatian artists will take part in eight branches. Darko Macan will present his cartoons, Leo Vukelic urban interventions, Renata Poljak will participate with her works from visual arts and there will be a dance project entitled "Linkt! Chek-ing Dance". The "Odron teatar" from Split, musician Matija Dedic and writer Miljenko Jergovic are also going to Torino. Art design will be presented by Josipa and Marija Bronic and students of the Textile and Technology Faculty, Natasa Jeletic, Natasa Kopajtic, Lidija Skocibusic, Silvio Vujicic and Ivana Zozoli. Although the project is being financed by the Open Society
Institute and the Culture Ministry with 40,000 kuna (US$5,000), the
artists are dissatisfied with the lack of funds bringing into
question their trip to Torino.
They said that by going to the manifestation, the artists would
primarily be representing Croatia and its creative and tourist
potentials.
