Around March 15 the web address www.webmoviefest.com will provide
information about the festival, conditions and forms for
registering the films, initiator and founder of the festival,
Hrvoje Malekovic, said Friday.
The first phase of the festival, the registering of the films, will
last until June 1, after which their showing will commence, which
will last between four and six weeks, depending on the number of
films registered.
The jury and the public (every visitor of the web page) will vote and
pronounce the winners in the first half of July. The value of awards
for the winners will depend on the sponsors.
The films will be divided into three categories -- productions of
non-profession authors, cinema clubs and Academy of Drama Artists,
music videos and commercials (as well as anti-commercials),
Malekovic said.
The organisation of the festival was significantly helped by
Croatian Telecommunications, which provided Malekovic with a free
Internet connection at a speed of 64 KB/sec.
Malekovic's project is supported by the Foto-video club Zapresic,
an association for promoting urban culture "North Side", and the
Centre for Media Research.
