ZAGREB ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - An exhibition of items of the holdings from Croatian ethnographic museums and galleries was staged in the Art Pavilion ("Umjetnicki Paviljon") in Zagreb on Sunday. Previously, this show, prepared at an
initiative of former Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic and Culture Ministry, was organised in Budapest in February. The head of the Pavilion, Lea Ukraincik, told the gathered at the opening ceremony in Zagreb that the purpose of this event was to present valuable artefacts of the Croatian cultural heritage. The head of this project, Zorica Vitez, added that the exhibition consisted of four parts according to regions of Croatia - coastal areas, central Croatia, mountainous provinces and lowlands areas. Exhibits are examples of folk costume, textile, household artefacts, embroidery, furniture, jewellery, toys, musical instruments, masks, embellished weapons

Exhibits are examples of folk costume, textile, household

They were collected at the turn of 19th and in first years of the
20th century, and are kept in ethnographic museums in Zagreb,
Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Vinkovci, Split, Cavtat, Rijeka, Cakovec,
Krk and Hvar.
The sponsor of the event is the Croatian National Parliament, and
Sabor Speaker Zlatko Tomcic opened it ceremonially, congratulating
to organisers of this show on their efforts.
He concluded that varieties made up the identity of the Croatian
people.
The exhibition is opened by 26 March.
