CRO GOVT AND BECHTEL AGREE ON CONTINUATION OF COOPERATION

ZAGREB, Mach 3 (Hina) - United States company "Bechtel", which has an agreement with the Croatian Government on concession for the building of a highway linking Croatia's north and south, on Friday expressed readiness to help the Croatian Government in finding solutions for further building. Croatian Public Works, Reconstruction and Building Minister Radimir Cacic and Bechtel representatives on Friday held talks on the continuation of cooperation between Croatia and Bechtel. This was the first meeting between the two parties since the organisation of the new Croatian Government. During the talks, some obscurities were cleared, the Croatian Public Works, Reconstruction and Building Ministry reported after the talks. On behalf of Croatia, Cacic expressed gratitude to Bechtel for its understanding towards the position of the new Croatian Government, which must reduce capital expenditures from the budget. Cacic marked Bechtel's readiness to include Croatia's operational as much as possible very positive, which means the creation of new jobs. Bechtel demonstrated such orientation in the project of the building of highway Zagreb-Bregana (the Slovene border), read the statement.
