the end of a three-day session of the Bosnian Bishops' Conference in Mostar, cardinal Puljic said it was imperative to respect human, civic, national, and religious rights, regardless of who was at the head of the country. Domestic authorities and the international community should enable all to exercise their right to return to pre-war homes, he asserted, adding nobody had the right to appropriate others' property by occupation. "If we want a legal system and equality, then the Croat people in Bosnia-Herzegovina ought to be given the possibility to nurture its culture through the media," the cardinal said.
