Croatians bag eight medals at ongoing Special Olympics in Athens

ATHENS, July 2 (Hina) - On the penultimate day of the Special Olympics in Athens, Croatians won three more medals: two golds and one bronze, bringing the number of Croatian medals won at this sporting event for athletes with intellectual disabilities to eight,

On Saturday, Croatia's female national soccer team grabbed the gold in the final match beating Finland (12-0). Later in the day, the 4 x 100 metres medley relay team -- Lucija Celic, Slavica Krstic, Ante Medic and Mate Ramic - bagged the gold, too.

Natasa Zamljacanec won bronze in table tennis.

Until the penultimate day of the summer games, taking place from 25 June to 3 July in Athens, Croatians another five medals. In the previous track and field competitions, Croatians grabbed three medals. Slavica Krstic took gold in the 100-metre race, Mate Ramic took silver in the 200-metre race, and Lucija Celic won bronze in the 800-metre race.

Croatians Roko Vrancic and Gordana Frkin received two bronze medals in bowling.
