Let me be completely clear, I don't see any obstacles to the completion of the negotiations by 30 June, only some technical matters remain to be clarified, Martonyi told a news conference after a meeting of the General Affairs Council, which comprises the EU's foreign or European affairs ministers.
The ministers were preparing at the meeting draft conclusions for a summit meeting of EU countries' leaders, scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Brussels.
According to the draft conclusions, the European Council will call for concluding the accession negotiations with Croatia by the end of June 2011 on the basis of the draft common positions recently presented by the European Commission, with a view to the signing of the Accession Treaty before the end of the year.
The draft conclusions say enough, Martonyi said.
If the European Council endorses the conclusions, this will mean that Croatia will be given a political go-ahead for the negotiations' wrap-up.
