Ambassador says Croatia's accession treaty priority for Polish EU presidency

ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic on Wednesday received Polish Ambassador Wieslaw Tarka, who said that the signing od the EU-Croatia treaty of accession would be one of the strategic goals of the Polish presidency over the European Union in the second half of 2011, the Croatian parliament reported.

Bebic and Tarka discussed the prospective conclusion of Croatia's EU accession negotiations, with the parliament speaker saying that Croatia highly appreciated Poland's friendly support during the pre-accession process.

Tarka said that Poland was looking forward to the completion of Croatia's membership talks and was continuing to support Croatia.

He thanked Bebic for his sponsorship over events marking 2010 as the year of the Polish composer and virtuoso pianist Frederic Chopin.
