The two-seat twin-engined jet was escorted by a Croatian MiG 21 plane in Croatia's airspace. Upon landing, the German guests were welcomed by the commander of the Croatian Air Force, Brigadier General Drazen Scuri, and German Ambassador to Croatia Bernd Fischer.
General Scuri said that the German and Croatian air forces would exchange their experience as NATO members.
Asked by reporters whether the F4 plane would be good for Croatia's Air Force (HRZ), Scuri said than any plane would be good for the HRZ.
The lifespan of MiG 21 jets in the Croatian fleet is to expire soon and any new plane would be welcome, he said.
However, he denied that today's visit of the German jet was an introduction into the delivery of German F4 planes to Croatia.
Ambassador Fischer said that today's event was a joint task within NATO, describing it as a great moment for German-Croatian relations. He highlighted the friendly relations between Croatian and German pilots.
This relationship is important for the cooperation between Germany and Croatia in the mission in Afghanistan, he added.
