BERLIN, Feb 19 (Hina) - Croatian film director Vinko Bresan, author of the film "Marshall", which was shown at the 50th international film festival in Berlin, received a DM20,000-worth 'Wolfgang Staudte' award on Saturday. "This
awards means much to me and I am very excited. I am especially glad because I know that this is the first Croatian film which has won an award at the film festival in Berlin," Bresan told Hina following the award-giving ceremony. Bresan added the success of his colleagues Zrinko Ogresta and Krsto Papic showed that Croatia had good directors who could promote Croatian film abroad. 'Wolfgang Staudte' award was named after the German film director and is given to young directors for the promotion of experimental and art film. (hina) rml
