ZAGREB, Feb 16 (Hina) - Croatian Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic
on Wednesday held talks with Turkey's Ambassador to Croatia
Selahattin Alpar, at the latter's request.
Fizulic acquainted the ambassador with Croatia's economic
priorities, both domestic and international.
According to a statement from the Economy Ministry, both officials
concluded Croatia's and Turkey's economies were complementary, as
well as that political relations were the basis for the development
of bilateral economic relations, which they assessed were still not
satisfactory.
Minister Fizulic announced the impending passing of an investment
stimulation law should give Turkish investors a clearer picture for
investing in Croatian tourism, banking, trade centres, further
investing in road and other infrastructure, and in the joint
manufacturing of cars and consumer goods.
Croatia is interested in marketing its shipbuilding industry,
petrochemicals, and power plant equipment delivery in Turkey, said
the economy minister, adding the opening of shipping routes would
give Turkish shipowners the possibility to use Croatia's harbour
capacities, as well as a free zone to market their goods on European
markets.
Ambassador Alpar on behalf of the Turkish government invited
Fizulic to visit Turkey in the spring. Fizulic accepted the
invitation, the Economy Ministry statement concluded.
