TROGIR/PULA, Feb 1 (Hina) - After the payment of first wages started around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, some 1,100 employees of the Trogir-based shipbuilding company 'Brodotrogir' discontinued the strike which had started in the morning. Funds
for the wages were secured through a short-term loan amounting to US$500,000, granted by the Pula-based shipbuilding company 'Uljanik'. Problems plaguing five Croatian shipbuilders, including the Trogir-based company, were discussed today at different meetings at the Economy Ministry. Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic and union representatives told reporters a solution regarding the payment of wages to 'Brodotrogir' employees should be sought at a commercial level and not in the Ministry's funds.(hina) rml
