ZAGREB ARCHBISHOP MEETS EC PRESIDENT PRODI ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - Zagreb Archbishop Josip Bozanic on Friday met the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, who arrived in Croatia today for a one-day visit. According to a
statement from the Zagreb Archbishop's Public Relations Office, Prodi informed Bozanic of EU-Croatia relations and the new attempts aimed at Croatia's drawing closer to the EU. The two officials also discussed the role of churches and religions in the European community, which is being supported by Pope John Paul II, and mentioned the noted message Prodi sent to the European Synod, held in Rome in October last year. Present at the meeting at Archbishop Bozanic's side were Msgr. Josip Mrzljak, auxiliary Zagreb bishop, and the general vicar of the Zagreb Archdiocese, Vladimir Stankovic.
