THE HAGUE, Jan 14 (Hina) - The defence of Dragan Papic, one of the six Bosnian Croats whom the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) proclaimed not guilty of all charges, welcomed the verdict of the
international court on Friday. "We are satisfied with the decision. We had absolute confidence in the Trial Chamber, and their good evaluation of all evidence, ours and those presented by the prosecution", said Papic's attorneys Petar Piliselic and Nika Pinter. "Our client voluntarily turned himself in, in October 1997, because he knew he was not guilty and he chose not to live the rest of his life as a fugitive. Even though Papic spent over two years in prison, the rules of the ICTY do not include any right to compensation for the time spent in the ICTY prison.(hina) it
