ZAGREB, Jan 10 (Hina) - In order to prevent the spreading of a diseases called listeriosis, the Croatian Agriculture and Forestry Minister on Monday temporarily prohibited the import of live animals and animal products from France.
This does not include the import of food for animals, namely food for dogs, cats and other pets, and the import of fish and fish products. In the past several days in France, 11 meat products made by the French company of Coudray were urgently taken off the market for they were suspected of containing a dangerous bacteria called listeria. Of six reported cases of listeriosis in France, two people have already lost their lives. The Coudrey factory exported its products in several European Union countries. The Croatian Agriculture and Forestry Ministry stressed that in issued import decisions checked by Monday, the Coudray factory was not listed.(hina)
