Zagreb is a sign of further strengthening of Australian-Croatian
relations, the incoming Australian Ambassador Neil Francis told
Croatian Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic handing him his
credentials in Zagreb on Friday.
The ties between the two countries have been improved also thanks to

Australia has been following the progress Croatia has made so far in
setting up the constitutional framework for international
relations and the purpose of the new embassy is to strengthen trade
and investment connections with Croatia, he added.
The fact that Australia has decided to open its embassy in Croatia
proves that it is interested in achieving a "much higher level of
cooperation in all areas," said Pavletic.
"Croatia is now entering a period in which it wishes to affirm its
democracy at the highest possible level, as well as its wish to join
Euro-Atlantic associations and strengthen its relations with all
countries," Pavletic said.
