ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Friday received a delegation of the Serb Orthodox Church (SPC) Episcopal Council, the President's Office said in a statement. The delegation was headed by Jovan, the
metropolitan of the Zagreb-Ljubljana and Italy eparchy, and Jovan, the SPC Episcopal Council president. Mesic informed the delegation about the situation in the country, international cooperation and Croatian initiatives, the statement read. The two sides discussed the status and role of the SPC in the Croatian society, the preservation of cultural monuments and the return of artefacts from Yugoslavia. Also discussed was the implementation of provisions on compensation for stolen property, and a new bill on the legal status of religious communities.
