PRISTINA, Dec 13 (Hina) - The President of Kosovo's Democratic Alliance (DSK), Ibrahim Rugova, did not receive a sufficient number of votes for the president of Kosovo in the Kosovo parliament Thursday. Of 70 MPs, only 49 voted for
Rugova. Representatives of the DSK, the Serb coalition "Povratak", and one representative of the Albanian Democratic Christian Party of Kosovo took part in voting. Two leading Albanian parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance for Kosovo's Future, as well as minority representatives did not vote. They demanded of all parliamentary parties to first reach a political agreement on a joint government and the establishment of Kosovo institutions. Parliament speaker Nexhat Daci adjourned the session. According to him, talks with representatives of parliamentary parties would continue but the new session has not been scheduled.(hina) np sb
