ZAGREB/STRASBOURG, Dec 6 (Hina) - The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe on Thursday presented 73 towns and regions from 13 European countries, including Croatia, with diplomas for their contribution to the
development of local democracy in South Eastern Europe. The awarded towns in Croatia are Osijek, Sisak, and Brtonigla. The other winners for 2001 are Tuzla, Zavidovici, and Prijedor in Bosnia, Subotica in Serbia, Niksic, Kotor, and Rozaj in Montenegro, and Ohrid in Macedonia. Diplomas were also presented to Austria's Linz and one town each in Germany, Belgium, Spain, Slovakia, and Greece.
