TRIESTE TRIESTE, Oct 28 (Hina) - The anthology on the exodus of Croatians from Istria between 1918 and 1943 was presented in Italy's Trieste last week, the Croatian Consulate in Trieste said in a statement. Between 1918 and 1943,
about 100,000 Croatians and Slovenians escaped from Istria and neighbouring regions, while approximately the same number of Italians from Italy settled in Croatia. The number of Croatian refugees and emigrants is estimated to 55,000, the statement read. Considering that this exodus is entirely unknown to the Italian public, which is constantly being informed of the (mostly) Italian exodus after 1943, we've decided to publish this collection of documents and to present in to the Italian people, the statement read.(hina) it
