THE HAGUE, Oct 23 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) deputy chief prosecutor, Graham Blewitt, expressed surprise with a decision of the ICTY chamber of appeals to acquit three Bosnian Croats
suspected of war crimes in Ahmici. Blewitt said that the most important thing for the families of the victims at the moment was the knowledge that, despite the acquittals, the ICTY did establish that the crime had been committed and has convicted several persons for them. Blewitt told reporters that the Ahmici case was still not closed for the Prosecution, adding that another indictment regarding the responsibility for the massacre of hundreds of Muslims in Ahmici on April 16, 1993, would soon be unsealed.(hina) it sb
