BELGRADE, Oct 23 (Hina) - A Belgrade-based non-governmental organisation, the Humanitarian Rights Fund (FHP), warned about increasing religious intolerance and more frequent attacks on non-members of the Serb Orthodox religious
community in Serbia Tuesday. The FHP asked Serbian state institutions to, using all means, prevent individual or group activities encouraging national, religious and racial hatred and to punish violent behaviour and intimidation motivated by it. The FPH report cites some individual cases of attacks on members of smaller religious communities and their institutions throughout the year 2001. Muslim and Jewish cemeteries, as well as a synagogue and a mosque were violated in Belgrade and Zrenjanin on several occasions in February, March and June 2001.(hina) np
