PRISTINA, Oct 20 (Hina) - The president of the largest Kosovo Albanian party, the Kosovo Democratic Alliance, has vehemently condemned a Friday evening attack in which two ethnic Albanians were killed and one wounded. The casualties
were Bekim Kastratia, a correspondent of Bota Sot, a Kosovo newspaper in Albanian, and Besim Dajaku, a member of the security of Kosovo Democratic Alliance president Ibrahim Rugova. Gani Gecia, a former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, sustained injuries. In Saturday's statement to the press, Rugova said the attack was politically motivated and called on all residents of the southern Yugoslav province to help put an end to such crimes and criminals, in order to enable the holding of a peaceful general election next month and help Kosovo start building a better future. sped away, said Derek Chappell, spokesman for the police of the UN
Mission to Kosovo.
No suspect has been apprehended thus far and there is no information
if the attack had a political background, Chappell added.
