The residents of nearby Bakar and Bakarac, who spotted the dolphin,
thought at first it was a killer whale, but a professor from the
Zagreb school established it was Risso's dolphin, a rare visitor of
the Adriatic Sea, especially Croatia's parts.
The behaviour of the ten-metre-long mammal was normal both
yesterday and today and no signs of exhaustion or lack of
orientation were noticed.
This kind of mammal inhabits the Mediterranean, eats fish and
molluscs and is not dangerous for man.
