ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - The Croatian Defence Ministry on Tuesday presented two radar systems for air and naval control, called "Sky 2001" and "Peregrine". Deputy Defence Minister Zlatko Gareljic said the systems, imported from the
United States, would be used for the control of naval and air space as well as for civilian purposes. Apart from the control of air and sea navigation, the systems will be used in search and rescue operations at sea, prevention of smuggling and navigation assistance, Gareljic said, adding the systems met NATO standards. The Peregrine system, which includes mobile elements, will be located on the islands of Vis, Lastovo and Dugi Otok. The Sky 2001 will consist of five radars for air space control, which will be located on Mt. Sljeme, Mt. Ucka, the island of Peljesac, Mt. Papuk and in Vinkovci.(hina) sb rml
