PULA, Oct 3 (Hina) - A Yugoslav citizen of Turkish nationality was abducted in Istria by three men, police told reporters on Wednesday. The three, one of whom was subsequently arrested while the other two are sought for by police,
apparently offered the 28-year-old Yugoslav, who entered Croatia illegally intending to move on to Germany, to help him illegally cross the border over to Slovenia in exchange for 8,000 German marks. They then drove him to a nearby forest where they tied him up to a tree and demanded that he call his family by mobile phone and ask them to send the DM8,000 or they would start cutting off his fingers. He spoke to his family, but in Turkish, and was thus able to explain to them what had happened to him.
