BJELOVAR, Oct 2 (Hina) - The municipality of Djulovac and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Tuesday signed a memorandum on understanding whereby the USAID will continue helping the renovation of this
war-affected area in western Slavonia. The assistance will focus on the reconstruction and development of the infrastructure, small and medium-sized businesses, and farming. The municipality has to produce reconstruction programmes by itself. The municipality has a population of around 3,500. Almost half are settlers, Croats expelled from Kosovo and Bosnia. The rest are Croats and Serbs. This is the second memorandum on understanding the USAID and the municipality of Djulovac have signed. A $70,000 deal signed last year helped build a sewerage system in the area.(hina) ha sb
