ZAGREB, Sept 21 (Hina) - Slovene Premier Janez Drnovsek has described bilateral agreement with Croatia as a compromise solution and expressed hope that Zagreb will soon sign and ratify the document. "I believe that the agreement is
the best solution for both parties and that they should sign it as soon as possible. The agreement is a compromise solution both for Croatia and Slovenia and everybody had to make small concessions: to lose somewhere and get somewhere," Drnovsek was quoted by Croatian Television as saying on Thursday night. To corroborate his statement that both countries "got the same deal", PM Drnovsek said the document had severely been criticised both by the Slovene and Croatian public and as well as by the media of both countries. He said political reasons would press Ljubljana and Zagreb to sign this agreement and the international arbitration would in no way be a good solution. Ar
ZAGREB, Sept 21 (Hina) - Slovene Premier Janez Drnovsek has
described bilateral agreement with Croatia as a compromise
solution and expressed hope that Zagreb will soon sign and ratify
the document.
"I believe that the agreement is the best solution for both parties
and that they should sign it as soon as possible. The agreement is a
compromise solution both for Croatia and Slovenia and everybody had
to make small concessions: to lose somewhere and get somewhere,"
Drnovsek was quoted by Croatian Television as saying on Thursday
night.
To corroborate his statement that both countries "got the same
deal", PM Drnovsek said the document had severely been criticised
both by the Slovene and Croatian public and as well as by the media
of both countries.
He said political reasons would press Ljubljana and Zagreb to sign
this agreement and the international arbitration would in no way be
a good solution. Arbitration is a long process that would cost too
much both parties, and it would settle nothing, Drnovsek said.
