BELGRADE, Sept 19 (Hina) - The president of a joint Yugoslav-Serbian state commission on Kosovo, Nebojsa Covic, stated Wednesday he asked the United Nations Security Council to institutionalise the relations between the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia and the UN Mission to Kosovo (UNMIK), which would, he believes, prevent Kosovo's proclamation of independence. Upon his return from New York, Covic told the Belgrade press he offered the UN Security Council concrete technical solutions for the inclusion of the Serb minority population into the Kosovo police and the Kosovo protection force (KZK). "If members of the Kosovo Liberation Army could join KZK, there should be no problem in including members of the Yugoslav Army and the Interior Ministry," he said, adding he believed the current process of the return of Serb refugees to Kosovo should be sped up.(hina) js
