ZAGREB, Sept 16 (Hina) - A new rich deposit of carbon hydrates has been discovered in an Egyptian oil field - West Abu Ghardig - where the Croatian national industry INA is holding a 25-percent concession. According to INA, about 100
cubic metres (628 barrels) of oil and over 150,000 cubic metres of natural gas a day are likely to be produced from this new well in the West Abu Ghardig field in a desert in north-western Egypt. INA can get 12.5 percent of that amount. During the preliminary examination, this well called Faras SE 1x, yielded 197 cubic metres of oil (1140 barrels) and 253,000 cubic metres of gas on the average. The West Abu Ghardig block is being examined jointly by three companies - Italian Agip (with 45-percent concession), American Ocean Energy (30-percent concession) and INA .
