LJUBLJANA, Sept 5 (Hina) - Last year's Zagreb summit meeting of the heads of state of European Union and western Balkan countries has crucially contributed to the stabilisation of the region, the French minister in charge of European
affairs, Pierre Moscovici, was quoted by the Slovene daily 'Dnevnik' as saying before his visit to Ljubljana on Wednesday. "Within the stabilisation and association process for the western Balkans, to which the Zagreb Summit gave a decisive contribution, we all must work on turning the dark page of the history, and I am confident that Slovenia will give a great contribution to these bids as it has been doing so far," Moscovici said in an interview to 'Dnevnik'. The French minister said the EU's goal was to expand by 2004, and added Slovenia was a candidate with good chances of being admitted to the Union.(hina) ms
