BELGRADE, Sept 4 (Hina) - Albanian Liberation National Army (ONA) denied its members were returning to Kosovo, and stated in a telephone interview to the Belgrade-based news agency Beta Tuesday most of its members were Macedonian
Albanians. One of ONA's high-ranking officers, known as the Hawk, told Beta they "had no reason" to go to Kosovo. French news agency AFP, however, reported "hundreds" of ONA members were leaving Macedonia and heading to Kosovo, after an agreement on peaceful solution to the Macedonian crisis had been signed on August 13. Since June, when the operation of intensified control of the Macedonia-Kosovo border had started, KFOR has arrested around 850 alleged ONA members trying to cross the border towards Kosovo illegally. One of the American KFOR contingent's spokesmen confirmed to Beta that the Albanians were returning to Kosovo, but was unable to say whether they were ONA members.(hina) js
