PRISTINA, Aug 17 (Hina) - Commenting on Friday's signing of an agreement between the international community's Kosovo Force (KFOR) and Yugoslav forces, the president of the Kosovo Democratic Alliance, Ibrahim Rugova, said there was no
need for concern because the ground security zone between Serbia and Kosovo the agreement referred to would remain under KFOR's control. Nevertheless, he expressed concern Belgrade could abuse the good intentions of the U.N. Mission in Kosovo and KFOR. The authorities in Belgrade can demonstrate interest in the status of Kosovo Serbs but they cannot interfere in Kosovo's internal affairs, Rugova said. Kosovo Serbs should participate in the upcoming general election in Kosovo in November, he said, warning that Serb deputies in the Kosovo parliament would be named by UN Civil Administrator Hans Haekkerup should Serbs decide not to take part in the vote.(hina) rml
