ZAGREB, Aug 16 (Hina) - A total of 366,000 passengers used air service in Croatia in the second quarter of 2001 (from April to the end of June), which is a 28.4% increase compared to the same period last year. According to temporary
data from the State Institute for Statistics, of that number, 256,000 passengers flew on international flights (a 35.4% increase) and 110,000 (14.6% more) on domestic ones. In the first half of this year, 546,000 passengers flew on board Croatian planes, which is 24.7% more than in the same period last year. Of this number, 176,000 passengers flew within Croatia (a 13.5% increase) while 370,000 flew on international flights (30.7% more). Air transport of cargo in the second quarter increased by 6.4 percent to 1,451 tonnes.
