POLICE SAY HAGUE INDICTEE GOTOVINA IS STILL IN CROATIA

ZAGREB, Aug 10 (Hina) - Retired General Ante Gotovina, for whom an arrest warrant was issued after the UN's tribunal at The Hague indicted him for war crimes, has still not left Croatia, according to police information. "We are reacting to certain reports but still have no knowledge that Mr Gotovina has left the territory of the Republic of Croatia," Interior Minister Sime Lucin told reporters in Zagreb on Friday. "The police are doing everything in line with court orders," he said in answer to questions as to what was being done to apprehend Gotovina and when the Interior Ministry would issue an international arrest warrant. Lucin declined to comment on a statement made by Gotovina's biographer Nenad Ivankovic who said on Thursday the general was not on the run, was feeling well and in a good mood. The Hague tribunal indicted Gotovina for crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war committed against Croatian Serbs during 1995's Operation Storm, which liberated parts of Croatian territories occupied by Serb rebels.
