ZAGREB, July 27 (Hina) - The U.S. Navy's destroyer USS McFaul will be visiting the southern Croatian city of Split between July 30 and August 4, the United States embassy in Zagreb said in a statement on Friday. This visit will mark
the 25th port visit by a U.S. navy ship to Croatia in 2001 and the 24th to Split since Croatia's Independence Home based in the East Coast of the United States, the ship is under the command of the U.S. Sixth Fleet and is a member of the USS Enterprise Carrier battle Group, the Embassy said in the statement. "The USS McFaul, an Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer, is named for chief Petty Officer Donald McFaul, a U.S. Navy SEAL killed in combat during Operation Just Cause, the liberation of Panama. The ship, commanded by Commander Bruce H. Curry, is armed with the U.S. Navy's newest weapon suite and carries a crew of over 300 officers and sailors," the statement read.(hina) it
